June - October 2008 Update

The month of June brings a new rumor to my life. At that time, I got the best opportunity of my life. I have started to experience a new way of live in one of the fabulous country in the world, Australia. It was a great opportunity of my life that leads me to my main goals. Apparently, it is all because of the Peace Scholarship Program. Peace Scholarship Program helps me to reach at my major target of life, successfully. The Peace Scholarship that funded by UNIFEM Australia provides all scholars with the best opportunities. Indeed, through Peace Scholarship program my dreams become true and in real meaning, it made my life.

After the arrival to the Sydney Airport, I have met one of my scholarship people Kathryn Davis a kind lady and also another person from the Maquire University who, drop me down to my place. In general, this month was a good start of experiencing life in Sydney.

The months of July and august were very busy months, since I got involved with my studies. Importantly, the first two months were probably the month that I found myself in a culture shock and completely made me home sick. In addition, along with this culture shook condition I visit many beautiful places and different beaches in Sydney.

The September was the most significant and imperative month. It was the month that once again brings a new rumor to my life. I have been selected to the eleventh National Student Leadership Forum on the faith and values in Canberra. I can not visualize that I could be part of this forum where I was able to exchange my ideas and thoughts with the youth leaders. I was so exciting regarding the forum, since it was one of the significant events that hold in the most beautiful place in Canberra, at the Parliament House.

The NSLF was a four days event on the faith and values .There were over 400 nominations from different parts of  Australia, Africa , America, East-Timor, Netherland, Indonesia, Sovereign Union, Afghanistan and some other countries. These  delegates have been chosen from the various resources such as  by local MP, university, college, or someone else who believes  on  their innate ability and potential .The NSLF workshop  invite  these delegates to start thinking about what faith or values mean for the youth leader  – and how they impact in their  decisions and priorities.  In addition, the workshop was aimed to encourage the delegates to shares their thoughts and life experiences in terms of their personal and formal experience as a leaders. It also intended that why they want to be a leader and helped the people?

Furthermore, I have met the current and previous prime minister of Australia, which was astonishing and amazing component of the workshop.

Obviously, it was an interesting and functional workshop that gave the delegates positive potential of dealing with their goals and targets on the account of their responsibly. Furthermore, it obliged the youth leaders to keep trust on their selves and face the difficulties, no matter how hard will be the target but keep moving.  Apart from this good leaders are serve people well and always think about people before themselves. This is because the strong leader is the one who first think about his people rather than himself. This should be possible when they put aside their emotions and feelings, think as a leader or the one who aspire to assist the people. Therefore, if they want to put these ideas into practice they should start from their selves. As one of the famous leaders said that, think locally but act globally.

Overall, this workshop was a magnificent experience for my personal and formal life, where I able to find the real meaning of the leadership. It was a wonderful opportunity to congregate the respected leaders and take advantage of their wonderful experience. As an example I am intend to report Frank Outlaw’s words as follows;

Watch your thoughts; they became words.

                        Watch your words; they become actions.

Watch your actions; they become habits.

                       Watch your habits; they become character.

Watch your characters; it becomes your destiny.
