Rohan Gudibande
Home University - University of Madras
Host University - Bond University
My name is Rohan Gudibande I and hail from
Bangalore, India. I am currently in my 3rd year of college. I am
doing my Bachelors Degree in Economics at Loyola College, Chennai,
India. The Peace Scholarship Programme has given me a unique
opportunity to study at Bond University in Australia for one
semester and I am truly enjoying every moment of it .I arrived in
Gold Coast on the 5th of May 2007. I had a warm reception at Bond
University and was given an accommodation in the campus. The people
at Bond have been very cooperative and they have taken care of my
every need .The beauty of Gold coast is astounding with its
beautiful beaches and scenic beauty. Having arrived in Australia
and at Bond University I have enrolled in four subjects related to
economics which I am truly enjoying. The Professors at Bond are
very well qualified and have constantly motivated me to perform
well in my studies.
At Bond I have joined the Rotaract club where
I have been involved in various fund raising activities. For the
past two weeks we have been selling chocolates to raise funds for
World Vision as the Rotaract Club of Bond is supporting many World
Vision projects like funding children from developing countries
like Cambodia, Ghana etc for providing them with education. We are
also gearing up for selling various Red Nose Merchandise in order
to raise money for "Kids with Sids", an NGO who works for orphan
children. This fund raiser event would be held from the 24th of
June upto the 29th of June 2007 at Bond University campus and I
looking forward to contribute towards its success. I have also been
involved in some research activities with one of the Professors
from the Faculty of Business whom I am helping out with literature
review and collection for some of his research projects.
Currently I am busy with my midterm
exams and I am hoping to do well in them. So yes right now
its study time! The Peace Scholarship Programme is truly providing
me with the opportunity to learn from new experiences and broaden
my horizons at Bond University. My career goal is to be an
Economist of repute and this international experience of learning
at Bond in a true multicultural environment, where there are
students from as many as sixty countries accompanied with world
class facilities would be my first stepping stone towards achieving
that goal. I hope to make use of my time at Bond and in Australia
to the maximum in shaping my personal and academic skills.
